  • Q: IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

    A: YES, CREATIVE BLACK-TIE

    WE'LL SERVE THE CHAMPAGNE, YOU SERVE THE LOOKS.

    It’s a STYLISH affair!

    We'd love for you to show off your most elegant attire from embellished long evening gowns to midi formal dresses. Gentlemen wear your best formal cocktail attire or suits with flair. Please come dressed to impress!

    Please no jeans/denim or T-shirts!

  • Q: WHAT IF I DON'T RSVP IN TIME?

    A: Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate you if you RSVP late. We will need to provide our vendors and the venue with an exact guest count by a certain date.

    While we will send out reminders, as well as send out invitations early, please be sure to RSVP as soon as possible by either mailing the RSVP card back, using the QR code on your invitation, or by clicking the RSVP tab in the menu above.

  • Q: CAN I BRING A DATE?

    A: We are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.

    If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

    Please respect our wishes as we're trying to keep our wedding an intimate celebration. Thank you so much for understanding!

  • Q: WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CEREMONY?

    A: We recommend arriving at least 15 to 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the ceremony. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:45 PM, so please aim to be seated by 4:15 to 4:30 PM to ensure you don't miss any special moments. This will allow you to settle in comfortably and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Thank you for being a part of our special day!

  • Q: Where do I park?

    A: Ceremony- From the main gate of Hampton University, you can follow these directions to reach the Memorial Chapel:

    -Head south on Emancipation Drive toward Tyler St.

    -Turn left onto Tyler St.

    -Continue straight onto William R. Harvey Way.

    -Turn right onto Marshall Ave.

    -Continue straight until you reach the Memorial Chapel.

    Once you're close to the Memorial Chapel, there will be signs directing you to parking areas nearby.

    Reception- Please note that there is limited onsite parking available at Smithfield Winery. However, there are several street parking options and free public lots nearby for your convenience.

  • Q: CAN I TAKE PICTURES?

    A: We are having an UNPLUGGED CEREMONY, meaning that once the ceremony begins, we ask that all phones be put away and silenced.

    However, we understand how important photos are and have dedicated a special “photo minute” where our officiant will let you know it’s time to snap as many pictures as they would like.

    We want everyone to be fully present with us and for our photographer to be able to capture the best pictures that we will share with you. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you'd like!

    A photo booth will also be present!

  • Q: ARE KIDS WELCOME?

    A: We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event with the exception of immediate family. We encourage you to use this evening as a "night out" for yourself!

  • Q: WILL THERE BE AN OPEN BAR?

    A: Yes! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you-get ready to party!
